We visited Amsterdam back in 2018 and I said the whole time I wanted to go to Madame Tussauds and this time we finally did and I was so glad. We’ve never been to a madame tussauds before and I had no idea what to expect, we got told that the Amsterdam Madame Tussauds was smaller than the London Madame Tussauds however but still takes a while to get through. I really enjoyed madame two swords as I like to call it and I’ll explain why.
Location
The Amsterdam madame tussauds museum is situated in the heart of Amsterdam, in dam square. Easily accessable by tram or just walk there from wherever you are staying. As it’s by the square there’s always something else going on and amazing Amsterdam picture oppertunities to be had so make sure you look about while there.
The Exhibit
I can’t praise madame tussauds enough, as I mentioned before I’d never been to one before so had no idea what to expect but I was blown away from what the tussauds museum had to offer. I know some people call it the wax museum Amsterdam and for good reason, however some of the wax celebrities look so real it was scary. The exhibit had loads of well known celebrities that you could take pictures with, interactive areas so that you could get your own professional pictures taken and even a recording booth that you could use to sing your heart out to a popular Adele song of your choice! If you want a broad idea of what wax works there are take a look at this little madame tussauds Amsterdam wax figure list.
- Justin Beiber
- Adele
- Daniel Craig
- ET
- The Hulk
- The Dutch Royals
- Taylor Swift
So many more as well, there are loads of wax figures Amsterdam has to offer and that’s just one reason why I’d suggest going! Take a look at some of these photos I was able to take when we visited.

Madame Tussauds Facilities
The facilities at madame tussauds are great. The staff are really polite and helpful, we got some to take pictures for us and had no issues. At one part of the tour you’re able to have wax hands made and we had our own done, the staff member who did it was really polite and helpful.
The madame tussauds Amsterdam disabled access was perfect, they had lifts that could take you to all parts of the tour, however there are some stairs to get into smaller exhibits that wheelchairs users wouldn’t be able to access.
Conclusion
I really enjoyed the madame tussauds Amsterdam experience and would happily go again, as I said before we had a 25% discount on our trip thanks to the iamsterdam card and I’d recommend everyone get a card if you’re planning on visiting top Amsterdam attractions on your Amsterdam holiday.
