You could look at this list as 10 things to do in Amsterdam post if you wanted, with suggestions all the way through!
If you’re interested in Amsterdam history, there are loads to see and do! Our first trip to Amsterdam was an Amsterdam culture trip and we loved it. You can visit some great Amsterdam museums and learn so much, easily filling a week of culture and new information. If you don’t have a lot of time to take a long Amsterdam tour I’d suggest checking out these small Amsterdam museums, totally worth the visit!
If you’re looking for places to eat in Amsterdam you’re in luck. There are loads of places to find good food in Amsterdam and you’ll never go hungry! Some might be out of the way whereas others in the city centre. We’d suggest taking a look at the Amsterdam vegan junk food bar for great Amsterdam vegan food. If you know of any other good Amsterdam restaurants let us know in the comments and we might just have to check them out!
If you’re looking for places to stay in Amsterdam you really are spoilt for choice, we can only recommend one place which is the Conscious Tire Station Hotel Amsterdam and we’ve stayed there three times. There are loads of hotels in Amsterdam however and we always suggest going through hotels.com for the best price and to earn reward nights. So if you’re thinking Amsterdam where to stay? Don’t worry about it because there’s so much choice you’ll have to make a list and find the best! If there are any Amsterdam hotels you love do let us know!
We love a good market and we found quite a few in Amsterdam, so if you’re thinking about places to visit in Amsterdam I’d suggest taking a look at the nearby markets in Amsterdam that you could visit. You can find all sorts, authentic Amsterdam food, Amsterdam souvenirs and everyday items. The markets we visit are always busy, if you visit in December you need to check out the Amsterdam Christmas markets because we loved them! Trips to Amsterdam wouldn’t be complete without visiting the markets!
There is so much to see in Amsterdam, although we’ve never done one I’d suggest taking part in an Amsterdam walking tour. We normally walk 10-15 miles per day on average when we visit. If you’re wondering what to see in Amsterdam, loads! You can walk around the canals and take some great pictures, walk around Amsterdam town and take a look in all the different shops. There are also the Amsterdam tourist attractions and there’s always something to see there. While you’re at it, take a look around Vondlepark and enjoy the rose garden.

If you’re thinking about visiting Amsterdam there are some famous Amsterdam landmarks that you need to visit. A well known Amsterdam point of interest is the famous Dam Square that is always bursting with life, I’d also suggest visiting the Amsterdam Rembrandt Square where you can get some amazing photos with the Amsterdam Rembrandt Square statues. When it comes to Amsterdam photo opportunities, the Amsterdam landmarks have loads.
Amsterdam Photo Opportunities
If you love uploading photos onto Instagram or you just want something nice to look back on, Amsterdam places to take photos are everywhere! You can take some amazing photos by the Amsterdam canals and it doesn’t matter if the Amsterdam weather isn’t amazing because you can still get some amazing photos! As you can see below, even though my hands all over the place it’s still a really nice photo with an amazing backdrop.
Amsterdam is a city of culture and art but they also have their tourist attractions Amsterdam accommodates everyone! One place we’d suggest checking out is Madame Tussauds Amsterdam, it’s such a fun time and can take a couple of hours to get around it all, plus it’s right next to Dam Square. Don’t forget if you’re going to be visiting Amsterdam tourist attractions you should think about getting an iAmsterdam card which can save you money in Amsterdam all over the place!
98% of people we meet in Amsterdam are lovely, everyone is helpful and will do what they can to help you out. The laid back, relaxing vibe the locals give off is amazing and it’s a lot nicer than some other places we’ve visited! I will say that staff in restaurants and hotels are so helpful and can give you directions almost anywhere! That doesn’t mean you should trust everyone but it does mean you’ll have a nicer time and won’t have to worry so much!
